For rare-disease foundations
Research your disease, without a lab of your own.
Evon Bio is a contract research laboratory — a lab that does experiments on your behalf. We build living models of rare genetic diseases and test potential treatments on them, so your foundation can move research forward without hiring scientists or buying equipment.
01
We grow the patient's disease in a dish
You connect us with a patient's blood or skin sample. We convert those cells into stem cells — cells that can become any cell type in the body — and then grow them into brain tissue or heart cells that carry the patient's exact genetic error. This gives researchers a living model of the disease without ever touching the patient again.
02
We test treatments on it
You bring us a treatment candidate — a drug, a gene-targeting molecule, or anything else — and we apply it to the diseased tissue we grew. We then measure whether the treatment corrects the problems we can see in the cells, such as abnormal proteins or faulty gene activity.
03
You get data you can act on
You receive a written report with clear results: what worked, what did not, and at what dose. This evidence helps you decide which treatments to fund next, and it is the kind of data larger partners ask to see before they invest.
Common questions
We are not scientists. Can we still work with you?
Yes. Many of our clients are foundations led by families. We explain every step in plain language, and you will always know what is happening with your project and why.
What does a project cost?
Every project is quoted individually, because no two diseases are alike. Tell us what you need and we send a fixed quote within 2 business days — no surprises later.
How long does it take?
Building a cell model from a patient sample takes roughly 3 to 6 months. Testing a treatment on an existing model takes roughly 6 to 12 weeks. We give you a timeline before work begins.
Do we need to ship anything?
Only the initial patient sample, and we guide you through it. Everything after that — growing cells, running experiments, analyzing results — happens in our San Diego laboratory. If you are outside the United States, only data crosses the border.
